15 Favorite Free Fonts

Hi, my name is Katie, and I'm a font-a-holic. (And a snob when it comes to fonts, I'll admit it!) I love being able to portray what type of party an invitation is for or what a company does by using fonts. So, I thought I would share with you some of my favorite free fonts (and where to find them)!

one of my passions

I haven't written about one of my passions on my blog yet. It's something that I love to do in my free time and would love to do as a profession. It's graphic design. I love making logos, banners, business cards, flyers, even t-shirt designs and recently opened my own Etsy shop (kb designed) for creating that type of thing. I would love for you to check out my store.

If you're wanting to update your blog banner, but just can't find what you're looking for, shoot me an email and maybe I can help you. I just recently updated mine and I love it! I also just made a friend's banner and you can see it here.

Here are some of my other projects I've been working on. Take a glance and hop on over to my Etsy store to get your own custom graphics designed!

Rolo Cookies

I love Pinterest. It gives you an opportunity to be creative, to find ideas, to laugh, and to drool over recipes (as I did on the one I'm about to give you). You might have seen this gem of a Pin in your perusal of Pinterest, but in case you haven't, here is the amazing goodness that you should go make right now.

They're called Rolo Cookies. It's such a simple recipe, and is actually very inexpensive to make. You can find the original site here, at Six Sisters' Stuff. You should check out the rest of their website, too. They're very crafty!

Anyways, I just made these cookies and had to share. SO good!

Ingredients:
1 pkg. Rolos
1 Devil's Food cake mix
2 eggs
1/3 cup oil

Directions:
Mix cake mix, oil, and eggs. Take a small ball of dough and form it around the rolo. Place on greased cookie sheet and bake at 350 for 7-8 minutes. It makes about 3 dozen. Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Devour.

To Luke (1 year)

My baby turns 1 today. I don't know how it happened so fast. Everyone says that it flies by, but you just don't realize it until you have your own kids. I'm feeling sentimental, so I wanted to write a post for him from his mommy on his first birthday.

To Luke on your first birthday,
I feel so blessed that God chose me to be your mother. You bring such joy to my life. I love the way you giggle, how you are constantly smiling and happy, how you make others smile (especially as we're walking through the grocery store), how you look JUST like a miniature of your daddy, how fast you learn things, how active you are, the many different faces you make (including raising your eyebrows when things interest you), your love of books and music, the way you look up at me with your big blue eyes, how you know what sound a truck makes, but not what sounds animals make, how you love your daddy and squeal and say "dada" when you see him walking out of the garage, how much you love food (and how fast you shove it in your mouth), how you have no fear of anything, how you love to be chased and always run to your big bear as if he can save you, the way you nod your head and say "yeah" when you want something, and how you shake your head no when I tell you "no." I love sooo many more things about you than just this short list.

I want you to know how loved you are by all your family, too. All your grandparents, your aunts and your uncle adore you and spoil you (although they say they're allowed). I don't think you will ever feel unloved. We have so many friends who love you, too. A whole church-ful. Everyone thinks you are the cutest and sweetest little boy ever, and I happen to agree.

I can't imagine my life without you now that I've had you for one short year. I love the personality you are developing and am so glad I get to be your mother for so many more years.

Love you baby,
Mommy

Here are a few pictures of Luke when he was born and from his first birthday party. Enjoy!
