about me

All things life and design. By an interior designer.

I used to be an assistant interior designer to a small locally-owned studio, where we worked on mostly residential projects. Now I am a stay-at-home mom to my sweet little boy Luke.  My husband and I got married and bought a house about 4 years ago and are trying to figure out where we fit into the world of design.

Since I started caring about design (in high school), I was very into the clean lines, transitional-modern thing. I always wanted an urban loft as my first home with no walls, open spaces, concrete floors, overlooking a huge city. My husband is the same. About 8 months after we got married, we bought our first house in a tiny little city. It's a craftsman-style house with lots of beautiful woodwork, lots of little details, and original hardwood floors. (Not exactly the loft feel.)

I'm very much into things you can do yourself. Since I found blog-land awhile ago, I have become obsessed with shabby chic, cozy, cottage-y style. (My poor husband doesn't know what to do about it, but is graciously allowing me to go with it!) I am in love with mason jars, the color white, natural linens, old wood, distressing, etc. This is a far cry from what I was into a couple of years ago! I finally feel like I found my niche.

Enough about my style. I already told you I was an interior designer. My husband works as a computer programmer for a small company. We met in high school youth group, went to college together, and after dating for 6 years, we got married! My wedding was the most wonderful event of my life. My dad (who is also our pastor) married us and that was one of the most memorable things of the wedding.

We are very blessed to have both of our families living close to us. We couldn't ask for better families!
